The Dangerous Book For Boys
First of all, thank you so much for the congratulations and well-wishes. We’re excited about adding to our family and I’m especially excited to have a brand new baby at my disposal - I can’t wait to photograph him! I’m due just after the holidays which means I’ll have a darling little Mudrick monkey to post come winter.
Now on to a non-Mudrick monkey … this future engineer was studying how to build a catapult and I’m in love with all the expressions we captured. More of this guy to come … more of his adorable siblings too!
xoxo,
Rebecca
p.s. travel announcements coming very soon!

News

This is an image my dear friend Anna took of me with my four crazy monkeys. Four monkeys you ask? But you only see three? Look a little harder … there’s another monkey hiding in there and he’ll most likely make his appearance shortly after the holidays.
So what does this news mean for my clients? Not too much for the remainder of the 2008 portrait season. I’ll be taking clients until October 31st after which I’ll wrap up sessions and get out holiday orders until my maternity leave starts. Portrait sessions in Chapel Hill (and throughout the Triangle, for that matter) will resume again in April 2009.
Whew!
What an adventure we had during our 5 weeks away! We (miraculously) survived the long journey home, frantically unpacked, and then welcomed 13 family members to our home for a wonderful weekend of celebration together. I love summer adventures and house guests, but I’ll admit - I am glad to have nothing but everyday stuff on the agenda for the next few weeks. I foresee many long hours of editing and sharing ahead, and I’m excited to get in the thick of it.
I thought I’d share a fun picture my super talented photographer friend Anna shot of me while we were shooting together at the Great Salt Lake. I don’t have many pictures of myself (I know, I’m terrible!) and it’s especially fun to have an image of me doing something I love so much. Thanks Anna!
xoxo,
Rebecca

Last One
A shot from my second of many Utah sessions … but unfortunately my last sneak peek until I return to Chapel Hill.
This little guy was such a pleasure to work with. He was visiting from California and was surprisingly cooperative despite really wanting to play with his three very cool cousins who were also at the house. There are so many images I love from this session … so I just picked one at random. Meet my friend, “M”.

Family & Field
Oooh, I have so much to share but I can’t trust my editing skills on my laptop … so I’m only sharing one for now and hoping (cross my fingers) that the editing is okay. I’m sure I’ll cringe once I get home to my perfectly calibrated computer and see that something is off, but my little sis and her family are too cute not to show off now. Aren’t they adorable?

Sneak peeks will be sparse in the coming weeks … I think I’ll only do one more (that was already promised) and save the rest for after I return to my beloved iMac in Chapel Hill. There will be feast after famine, I promise! I only hope you will all hang in there with me until then.
xoxo,
Rebecca

Happy 4th of July!
To all my friends in Chapel Hill and beyond … I hope you had a wonderful Independence Day!
xoxo,
Rebecca
p.s. one from the balloon launch in Utah Valley early yesterday morning:

Out of the Office
Goodbye Chapel Hill … hello Salt Lake City! We’re escaping the heat and humidity of the South for the dry heat of the West. I’ll be away from my desk from Friday, June 27th - Monday, July 28th. I’ll still be checking email and voice mail while I’m away, so please email or call if you’re wanting to book a session and I’ll return your message as quickly as possible.
I’ve got loads of sessions scheduled during this working vacation, so stay tuned! I’ll post sneak peeks as often as possible.
I have one last sneak peek before we ship out - a Boston family we’ve known for years and love to death. We wanted them to come visit us in Chapel Hill, so I bribed them with a photo session and they took the bait. Thanks for visiting Jared, Mary & kiddos. We’ve missed you!
xoxo,
Reb

Glee Kids
My friend Melissa recently opened a beautiful little boutique on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill named Glee Kids (or “Ga-Lee”, if you’re my Glee obsessed 3-year-old). Melissa has impeccable taste and the boutique is absolutely wonderful (as my credit card statement can attest, lol). I was thrilled when she called wanting a photo shoot for an ad campaign and display. I had loads of fun working on this project and am looking forward to many joint ventures in the coming months.
If you’re in the Triangle area (most especially if you’re one of my clients needing an outfit for your shoot), make sure to check out Glee Kids. I promise you won’t leave empty handed!
xoxo,
Reb
p.s. here are a few of the shots we got … of Kit + Lili, Wati, Kit + Lili again, Tea, Glug, Appaman and City Threads all available - of course - at Glee Kids.

This one you’ve already seen, but I’ll share it again anyway …

Wild but Worth It
This was one fast-paced, wild and crazy session. Mom had just come back into town … Dad was (quite literally) on his way out. But we were able to squeeze in a session and get a bunch of great shots. Sometimes it seems like there is never a good time to schedule a photo session, but trust me - there is always time for recording something as important as family.
Presenting, the “A” family:

Practically Perfect In Every Way
This little girl was the perfect subject - she was both beautiful and hopelessly sleepy. Gosh, I just love it when they make my job easy, lol!
Here’s a sneak peak of Ms. Sophia for her parents … because I know they’re anxious to show off their gorgeous new daughter.
Congrats to you both!
Rebecca
